Nalban is a serene watery world where the centerpiece of attraction is the giant lake. The lake water is crystal clear sans any pollution. On a clear sunny day, you can even see your mirror image reflecting on the sill waters of the magnificent lake.
The name Nalban comes from 'nal' meaning lakes or creeks and 'baní or groves of trees. Situated far from the city in an unpolluted atmosphere it makes it an ideal destination for picnics with family and friends. Itís a pleasure to cruise down the lake on the decorated boats as it passes by the small floating huts.
As far as water sports are concerned, a wide array of boats is available, ranging from the luxurious "Shikaras" to the simple "Paddle Boats". To make the overall boating experience a pleasure, there are fascinating floating huts at strategic locations of the turquoise lake. After a long session of boating, you might want to relax and give your body a much-needed rest. The floating huts are ideal stopovers. What is more, discreet privacy is guaranteed.
The sight of lovelorn couples sitting shoulder to shoulder and mincing sweet nothings is an everyday occurrence at the Nalban Boating Complex. The tastefully decorated Shikaras are the very epitome of luxury. A boatman (Majhi) is assigned to every Shikara booked by passengers. As the luxurious Shikara moves on rhythmetically on the sparkling waters of Nalban, you are transported to a Bengal younever knew existed. A Bengal full of serenity. During your voyage on the Shikara, you might sometimes get to hear the lilting Bhatiyali songs being sung by the simple looking boatman.
Just come and indulge in all the fun and frolic Nalban Lake, Kolkata has to offer. Come with your loved ones and spend a day in this beautiful paradise. An ideal unwinding spot you will fall in love with.
