Science City

Admission Fee: Rs.15/- general, Rs.30 for Space Theatre and Rs.10/- for Time Machine. Students are offered heavy discounts if they come in a group of 50. The building of the centre is itself is an architectural splendor of the city, not to talk about the inner beauty. The centre is a showcase of scientific magic and is one of its kinds in the whole country. The centre has different sections which include the Space odyssey, Life Science Corners, Dynamotion, Science Park, the Dinosaurs Complex, Toy Train & Ropeway and many more.

The Science City has a large convention centre complex with all modern amenties.The main auditorium can accommodate 2300 persons. The side auditorium can accommodate 450 people. In addition there are 8 halls in the adjacent building, the capacity of which varies from 200 to 250 people. All are air conditioned and fully equipped with latest audio visual system. The basement is ideal for poster presentation. There is a huge open field just behind the main auditorium. The lounges (Durga Mandap, Bengal Gallery & Mukta Mancha), food plaza and scientific exhibitions will be organized in this space.

It is a brainchild of the National Council of Science Museums. It's ideal for the tourist interested in the nuts and bolts of science. If you're in the mood for a simulated earthquake or a tornado, drop by here. Also worth a dekko is the collection of live birds and insects, and dinosaur models. A great place to take children to.
